Create With What You Have
2 Corinthians 8:11-12 “Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means. For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have."
This was a passage on generosity, but I see that it applies to us creatives as well. Creating is generosity of inspiration, message, and art. People need art to live a meaningful life.
I am sure that many creatives here have begun the work or envisioning the work, but have hesitated to finish because of lack of skill, or maybe not enough resources, or a lack of audience, or lack of time. But look at what kind of gift is acceptable: the kind that is given according to what one has.
You Lack What You Don’t Need
I don’t have a degree in music production, or songwriting, and I don’t have tons of money for fancy gear. But I have the word of Christ dwelling within me, my experiences, my gift of music, and enough technology in order to create music and share encouragements to people online.
Sometimes I wish I had more connections, or more money, or more gear, or more time, but the word is clear. God is a kind Master. He gives us enough of what we need to carry out the good works He prepared for us.
Create—despite what others’ works look like, despite what you think you lack, despite your own understanding. Create with a cheerful heart, because your God makes all grace abound to you.

We are vessels made to be occupied by one thing only. We can deny self and choose Christ, or deny Christ and choose self. It will always be one or the other.
