I Am God’s Enemy

Romans 3:10-12 “As it is written: there is no one righteous, no even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”

Exalt yourself and you’ll be humbled. No one does good but God alone.

There’s a time for building up, and there’s a time for rebuke. “Self Righteous” takes after the bold and unapologetic character of Christ that takes the holiness and glory of God seriously.

And I mean seriously.

We tend to look at ourselves at a human level, comparing ourselves to society and its standards. But what if we looked at ourselves at the God level? We’ll find that not even the greatest and mightiest of men, nor the most benevolent of them, stand a chance at getting into heaven on their own. Only those as good as God can enter, but indeed, none can stand!

“Self Righteous” is the song in the sea of “Listen, little children,” that cries, “Get behind me, Satan!” It is not to condemn, but to remind and to warn both believers and unbelievers alike of who we really are before God. He is of a different category in and of Himself — holy and all-glorious.

Fear Him.
