4 Christian Retro Indie Worship Songs that Feel Nostalgic

For today’s post, I have a few songs I recommend!

If you’re like me, you might also love those indie pop songs with the retro synth sounds. Those type of songs that bring me in a kind of nostalgic mood that feels so unexplainably familiar. And as a Christian, finding ones that are about God and the Christian life is like striking gold.

If that resonates with you, then these 4 songs from 4 artists are for you:

#1 “cast (get better)” by ØM-53

Quirky and relateable, this song from ØM-53 really captures what we all feel when things could be better. Waiting on God to reveal why we have to go through some tough seasons can really be frustrating (I’m fighting off a flu for a whole week now myself). Hopefully this song can keep you company and your spirits up!

#2 “What My Heart Desires” by Ben Trip

Who doesn’t love a good electric guitar riff? I’m taken by this song right from the intro. Ben Trip shares with us a heartfelt song of worship about the one true desire of our hearts: to know God.

This song is so easy to listen to and feels like a warm hug from above. Take a listen!

#3 “Right With You” by Spencer Annis

When it comes to honest songwriting and warm vocals, Spencer Annis is the guy to listen to. His song “Right With You” is one of those songs that just makes you long for God more. It’s a great mid-tempo love song to Jesus that you should definitely check out.

#4 “You Don’t Want It Back” by The Rennisans

Last but not least, this song with a long-ish title can either empower you or convict you as you drown in an ocean of synth-waves. “You Don’t Want It Back”, a song written and produced by yours truly under The Rennisans, talks about the struggles of being haunted by old sin patterns and temptations. If that’s you right now, then you definitely should take a listen.
